Kids'
Spring Play for 2012
Charlotte's Web
Our after-school theater club,
Stageworks, has begun producing its second annual Spring Play, and this
year it's the magnificent musical version of "Charlotte's
Web."
This is the uplifting tale of a
farmyard pig named Wilbur ... a crafty spider named Charlotte ... and
the almost mystical depths of their friendship.
The play includes a friendly family of
farmers ... plus a rat ... a gaggle of geese ... a handful of cute cows
... and any number of teeny, tiny baby spiders.
The
production is for kids in grades 4, 5 & 6, and many parts are
available for both boys and girls. All are invited to try out as cast
members, and roles will be assigned at the sole discretion of the
producers and directors, with the cast of last year's production getting
preference.
Rehearsals
start on Monday, February 6. Thereafter, rehearsals will be held every
Monday in February, March and April, all tied in whenever possible with
the Tri-Valley school schedule. In addition, cast members will rehearse
every Thursday from March 29 to April 26.
All
rehearsals will be from 3:15 - 4:45 pm right here at the Old Stone
House.
We'll
have two final dress rehearsals --- at 3:15 pm on Friday, April 27, and
at 5 pm on Saturday, April 28, at a location to be announced.
Finally,
there will be two gala public performances for our families, friends and
the whole community --- at 7 pm on Saturday, April 27, and at 2 pm on
Sunday, April 28.
Each
cast member pays just $50 for the entire three months of rehearsals,
including the final two performances. Just complete and submit a registration
form and we'll get back to you with everything else you need to
know.
And, of course, feel
free to pass along details about our production. For
